France – Air France Strike – Nationwide
Please be advised of the following development(s) that may impact your travel programme:
Unionised Air France (AF) employees, including pilots, aircrew, and ground staff, have announced plans for a 72-hour strike June 23-26 over a long-running salary dispute. Unless averted, the strike could cause significant flight delays and cancellations on Air France and Air France-operated Joon Airlines (JN). Air France codeshare flights operated by other carriers will not be affected.
Air France will likely announce the expected impact on flights 24 hours in advance, though unforeseen delays and last-minute cancellations cannot be ruled out. While recent Air France strikes have mainly impacted short-haul services, medium- and long-haul flights could also be affected. Residual disruptions are likely following the end of the strike as airlines work to clear any passenger and cargo backlogs.
Striking workers could stage demonstrations outside major transport hubs. Security-related traffic disruptions are likely in the vicinity of any demonstrations.
Airline strikes in France have been ongoing since February. Wage negotiations are continuing but have as yet been unsuccessful. Nevertheless, strikes could still be cancelled if the parties involved reach an agreement.
Confirm flight bookings on strike days. Do not check out of accommodation until onward travel is confirmed. Allow additional time to reach airports. Avoid all demonstrations as a routine precaution and to minimise possible disruption.
